THE BUSINESS OF FILM
The film industry is the stuff of legends, not only the lives and antics of its stars but also its business practices. Many of the legends surrounding its business practices are just that, embroidered exaggerations and fantasy facts.

The truth however, is more mundane. Making films is about making profits, and it is a hard-edged business. To make it work successfully, the people who make films need to understand how the finances work and the people who invest in films need to understand how the business of film operates.

INVESTING IN FILMS SEMINAR
The Investing In Films seminar is designed to unravel the mysteries of how films are financed by looking at:

It is a seminar about how films are financed in a tax effective manner in the UK, a matter of direct interest to film makers, film investors and anyone who advises film investors.

Indeed, for anyone involved in the financing of films in any way, this seminar is a must.

HOW THIS SEMINAR WILL HELP
On one hand, film producers and those seeking finance need to know what it is film investors are looking for. On the other, film investors and their advisers need to be aware of the potential pitfalls of some of the schemes available.

Although most film funding opportunities for individual investors tend to be film partnership arrangements, no two schemes are exactly the same.

The Investing In Films seminar will explain how the current film partnership tax scheme operates, discuss the potential advantages and pitfalls in film funding arrangements and, most importantly, expose the risks for investors.

The opportunity to network with other key local film industry attendees will also be presented.
